The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns are 3-1 against the Georgia Southern Eagles since November of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success Saturday. Louisiana and Georgia Southern will face off in a Sun Belt battle at 6 p.m. ET at Allen E. Paulson Stadium. The Ragin' Cajuns won't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy a 14.5-point advantage in the spread.

Louisiana ran circles around the Ohio Bobcats last Thursday, and the extra yardage (562 yards vs. 250 yards) paid off. Louisiana steamrolled past Ohio 49-14 at home. It should come as no surprise that the experts had more or less unanimously put their money on Louisiana. Their RB Montrell Johnson was on fire, punching in four rushing touchdowns.

Meanwhile, the evening started off rough for the Eagles last week, and it ended that way, too. They were completely outmatched by the Arkansas Razorbacks on the road and fell 45-10. Georgia Southern was down 38-10 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. A silver lining for them was the play of QB Justin Tomlin, who accumulated 65 passing yards in addition to rushing for one TD and 65 yards. That touchdown -- a 76-yard rush in the second quarter -- was one of the highlights of the contest.

This next game looks promising for Louisiana, who are favored by a full 14.5 points. Those taking them against the spread are banking on an outcome similar to that of the team's matchup last week, where they covered a 19-point spread.

Louisiana is now 2-1 while Georgia Southern sits at a mirror-image 1-2. A pair of defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: The Ragin' Cajuns are stumbling into the contest with the 230th most passing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up eight on the season. The Eagles have experienced some passing struggles of their own as they are 245th worst in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, with 11 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
